It's said that C.S. Lewis once turned to his friend J.R.R. Tolkien and stated:

"If they won't write the kinds of books we want to read, we shall have to write them ourselves."

How ever far removed from literature this little venture of mine may be, I think Lewis has effectively summed up my approach to merchandising.

In other words, Cottage Colony is my playground for all the things I love.

My design interests are a smash-up of eras and styles, mostly grounded in Belgian design. My first love is cottage style, with a heaping helping of industrial, a dash of urban flair, and a chaser of beachy chic.

Some of my offerings are handmade by yours truly, and some are items I've found, fallen in love with and purchased wholesale in order to "share the love" with others.
